At P.S. 82Q, we promote relevant and rigorous expectations for all, encouraging students to reach their full potential. Working collaboratively, we build strong, trusting, positive relationships among students, teachers and parents. As a learning community, we continuously expand our knowledge and empower our students to take risks and apply their learning to real world experiences.
Priority Focus
To build teacher capacity in generating high leverage questions connected to the literacy skills identified (Locating relevant details to support answers & make inferences, determinig the theme or central idea, and determining the meaning of academic and content specific words) and the math skills (building fluency of the four operations and its application to multi-step problems) to promote students discussion in all content areas utilizing checklist, response tags and sentence frames… as a tool to self-monitor their ability to process, comprehend and synthesize the task.
Instructional focus
P.S. 82Q will build teacher capacity in designated date-informed small group instruction focused writing across content areas
District 28 will use tiered professional learning to support teachers in providing tailored small group instruction to promote increased student independence in reading and writing.
